Reverend Elisheva Clegg completed the educational requirement of The New Seminary (TNS) of New York for ordination as an Interfaith Minister and was ordained by the faculty of The New Seminary in the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue in New York City, on Sunday, June 24, 2001. She was then assigned to the ministerial staff of The Interfaith Temple, which consented to her registration as Associate Minister with the New York Office of the City Clerk.

Reverend Clegg continued her studies with Universal University of Holistic Spirituality (UUHS) in Clearwater, Florida. UUHS was the only fully accredited interfaith institution operating in Florida at the time. Later UUHS moved its headquarters and then fully integrated its courses with the University of Panama in Panama City, Republic of Panama. She received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Pastoral Counseling (2004) and a Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Pastoral Counseling (2007).

Reverend Clegg was accepted into the University of Virginia (UVA) Chaplaincy Education Program at the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville and successfully completed the Chaplaincy Intern Program in August 2006 as a part of her Master's Program. She has continued as an active UVA Medical Center volunteer chaplain for overnight duties since receiving her certificate.

She is trained to officiate a wide variety of interfaith, interdenominational, intercultural, interracial, same faith, same sex, and humanistic ceremonies and services. Following her initial registration to perform ministerial duties in New York (2001), she was registered for premarital preparation provider and affiant in the state of Florida (2001). She has sense extended her registrations in the Commonwealth of Virginia (2005). Confirmation can be obtained from the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk, Fluvanna County, Palmyra, Virginia. She is also approved and registered with the Office of the Secretary of State for West Virginia (2007), the District of Columbia Superior Court (2008), and performs as a wedding minister in many other states based on their accepted standards for participation.

Reverend Clegg is a member of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice; the National Association of Wedding Ministers; the UVA Medical Center Chaplain Volunteer Program; and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Other organizations in which Reverend Clegg participates include the Interfaith Alliance and the Linus Pauling Institute. She is also a Founding Member of Interfaith Humanitarian Sanctum (IHS), a nonprofit, non-religious, no stock, public charity with no paid staff, which is solely devoted to UVA Medical Center patients and families who come from great distances without adequate means for lodging, food, travel and co-pay expenses.

Reverend Clegg is assisted at most weddings and other ministerial activities by her husband of over thirty-eight years

About Reverend T. Wade Clegg III

Reverend Thomas Wade Clegg III completed all written requirements at The New Seminary (TNS) in New York in May 2003. Due to health complications while living in Florida, he delayed ordination in New York and continued the ordination process through Universal University of Holistic Spirituality (UUHS) then located in Clearwater, Florida. UUHS was fully recognized by the State of Florida as an accredited nonprofit spiritual educational institution and the Florida Department of Education. Due to financial considerations and international student appeal, the school moved to Panama City, Republic of Panama, and fully integrated its courses with the University of Panama. Reverend Clegg was ordained through the UUHS Florida program in 2005.

Reverend Clegg was first registered as a premarital preparation provider and affiant in Florida (2005) with the Bay County Florida Circuit Court Marriage Division. Upon moving to the Commonwealth of Virginia, he was registered to perform ministerial duties by the Fluvanna County Clerk of the Court in Palmyra, Virginia. He is also authorized by the Secretary of State of West Virginia to celebrate rites of marriage in all WV counties.

He is a retired U.S. Air Force Officer, former businessman, broadcaster and certified organic farmer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Alabama (1966) and a graduate Certificate in Communication from the Norman Campus of the University of Oklahoma.

He is a Founding Member of Interfaith Humanitarian Sanctum (IHS), a nonprofit, non-religious, no stock, public charity with no paid staff. IHS is devoted to patients and families who come from great distances to the UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville without adequate means for lodging, food, travel and even co-pay funds. He works full-time in conjunction with his wife to secure funding for this charity and coordinates all requests from the Medical Center's social staff, available for contact as needed 24/7.

Another Happy Couple

Sasser under the canopy Hello Revs. Clegg,

How are you? I have to say, right out of the gate, that you both are so amazing. Everyone (including us) raved about our ceremony how personal and spiritual and soft yet funny it was. That is by far the best memory of that day. My parents were just over-the-top thrilled with you both. SO THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! We could not have "struck gold" in a better way than finding you! I look forward to hearing from you and keeping in touch as time goes on.

It is strange to me how two people that are perfect strangers one day, can have such an impact on your life after such a short time. We are blessed to have encountered relationships with you both - thank you! Our ceremony touched the hearts of everyone at our wedding, including us. It was written from the hearts of a couple who we should all strive to mirror in relationship, love and devotion. Reverend Elisheva and her husband are the perfect duo. Each step of the way they made us feel at ease and in love with the entire process of creating our ceremony. Reverend Elisheva was an integral part of our wedding and without her we could not have captured the beauty of our love and portrayed it so eloquently. Much love to you both!"
